An American clergyman and editor; born in Philadelphia, Nov. 4, 1823; died there, April 13, 1887. Princeton gave him the degree of D. D. in 1871. He was the author of "Life in India" (1855); "The soldier's Friend" (1861); and "The Ride through Palestine" (1881).
