An English educator, poet, and translator; born at Woburn in 1792; died at Woburn Abbey, May 2, 1836. He made poetical translations of Garcilaso de la Vega (1823), Tasso's "Jerusalem Delivered" (2 vols., 1824-25), and from the Welsh "Triads". Besides contributing poems to the annuals, he published several volumes of original verse.
