The first is the termination of the inferior mesenteric artery, which assumes the name superior hemorrhoidal, when it reaches the upper and posterior part of the rectum. 2. The middle hemorrhoidal is furnished by the hypogastric or internal pudic. It ramifies on the inferior and anterior part of the rectum. 3. The inferior hemorrhoidal arteries are branches of the internal pudic, furnished to the inferior part of the rectum and to the muscles of the anus.
