A German theological writer; born at Egenhausen, in Franconia, July 26, 1802; died professor of domatics at Erlangen, Jan. 24, 1875. Among his writings are: "Origen" (1837); "Contributions to Christology" (1845); "The Person and the Work of Christ" (1852); "Resuscitation of Evangelical Life in the Lutheran Church of Bavaria" (1867); "History of Christian Dogma" (1874).
