A Danish poet and philologist; born in Copenhagen, March 26, 1771; died there, Sept. 21, 1852. Son of the eminent statesman Ove Hoegh-Guldberg, he early became noted for his patriotic poems, a collected edition of which, in one volume, has sold extensively. He is an authority on Danish grammar.
