Extract of Aconite. Alcohol. dilut. Oiv. Moisten the aconite with half a pint of diluted alcohol: let it stand for 24 hours: transfer it to a displacement apparatus, and gradually add the remainder of the diluted alcohol. When the last portion of this has penetrated the aconite, pour in from time to time water sufficient to keep the powder covered. Stop the filtration when the liquid which passes begins to produce a precipitate, as it falls, in that which has already passed. Distil off the alcohol, and evaporate to a proper consistence.-Ph. U.
