An American poet; born in New York, 185-. She began her career as an actress in 1872; in 1881 she abandoned the stage. She has contributed to literature three volumes of poems: "The Triumph of Love" (1878); "The Triumph of Time" (1884); and "The Triumph of Life" (1885). She was one of the founders of the "Sorosis" Society, and its president in 1889.
