Eechymosis, Pelidnoma, Pelioma, Hypoema, Hypooema, Hypooemia, from 'juice,' 'humour;' Effusio, Exsuccatio, Suffusio sanguinis. A livid, black, or yellow spot, Livar sanguineus, produced by blood effused into the areolar tissue from a contusion. Spontaneous effusions, occurring as the result of disease or after death, are called suggillations.
