-
A narrow, cylindrical, and flattened portion of the uterus, which terminates it inferiorly, and opens into the vagina by the Os Uteri or Os Tincae. This neck is perceptible on examination per vaginam, until near the end of utero-gestation. As the uterus enlarges, however, it becomes shorter and wider, so that a manifest difference exists between its condition at seven and nine months.
