An apparatus for measuring the time required for a drop of blood to coagulate. One form (that of Russell and Brodie) consists of a truncated glass cone, on which a drop of blood is placed, which projects in a moist chamber; through a fine tube passing into the moist chamber a current of air is blown; the apparatus is placed under a microscope and the process of coagulation is observed and timed.
