A species indigenous to Ceylon and also, it is said, to the Malabar coast, and cultivated in various places in the East and in South America. Its bark is one of the chief sources of the cinnamon of the U. S. and other pharmacopeias. It possesses a more delicate flavor than that of Saigon cinnamon.
