A German legist; born at Leipsic, Jan. 1, 1655; died professor of jurisprudence at Halle, Sept. 23, 1728. Among his writings are: "Serious but Lively and Sensible Remarks on all Sorts of Juristic Works" (1720); "Reasonable and Christianlike but not Pharisaical Considerations on all Sorts of Philosophical and Juristic Works" (3 vols., 1723); "History of Wisdom and Folly".
