An English poet; born in Chipstead, Surrey, July 6, 1765; died at Putney Heath, April 17, 1834. A lively fancy, brilliant wit, sound sense, and personal charm made this lady and her poetry admired in her own circle; but she rarely consented to publication, and only her riddle on the letter H, sometimes credited to Byron, is generally known, her stanzas not having been collected.
