An English writer, sister of Agnes; born in London, Jan. 9, 1802; died at Lakeville, Can., Aug. 29, 1899. She removed to Canada in 1833, and made her home for many years at Lakeville, Ont. Among her works are: "The Backwoodsof Canada" (London, 1835); "Canadian Crusoes" (1852); "Ramblings in the Canadian Forests" (1854); "Afar in the Forest" (1869); "Studies of Plant Life" (1884); "Pearls and Pebbles" (1895).
