Yeast poultice, made with 6 ounces each of beer yeast and water and 14 ounces wheaten flour, or 2 ounces yeast, 1/2 pint milk, and powdered slippery elm bark; stimulant and deodorant.

It is antiseptic, and a good application to bruises. A Cataplasm of Beer Grounds, Cataplasma Fae'culae Cerevis'iae, C. Bynes, is used in the same cases.

A yeast poultice; made by mixing 6 fl. oz. of beer yeast with 6 fl. oz. of water heated to 100 F., stirring in 14 ounces of flour, and placing the mass near the fire to ferment; applied to unhealthy and gangrenous ulcers.
