A resin exudes from this tree, which, as met with in the shops, is solid externally; softish internally; of a vitreous fracture; transparent; of a pale yellow colour; turpentine smell, and sweet, perfumed taste. It has been used like balsams and turpentines in general, and is called, by the French, Cachibou, Chibou, and Resine de Gomart.
