Insertion: (Oblique portion), apex of opposite arytenoid cartilage; (Transverse portion), side of opposite arytenoid cartilage. Nerve: Recurrent laryngeal. Action: Draws arytenoid cartilage toward its fellow and closes the back part of the glottis.
