A Canadian historical writer; born in Riviere Quelle, Quebec, Dec. 16, 1831. Oct. 5, 1856, he was ordained a priest. He was professor at Ste. Anne's College until 1859, and afterward vicar at Quebec Cathedral from 1860 till 1873. Among his most important works are: "History of the Hotel Dieu de Quebec"; "My Canadian Parish in the Seventeenth Century". A collection of his entire works was published in 1886.
