An American writer of prose and verse; born in De Soto County, Miss., Feb. 10, 1866. Among his published works are: "Claribel and Other Poems" (1882); "Narcissus and Other Poems" (1882); "Songs of Dusk and Dawn" (1894); "The Coming of the King" (1897); "Songs of North and South" (1900); "Songs of East and West" (1906).
