A plant specie of the family VISCACEAE, order Santalales, subclass Rosidae. This is the traditional mistletoe of literature and Christmas.
Common mistletoe. The young branches (including the bark and leaves) were formerly used in epilepsy, catarrh, etc. It is now used but little in medical practice. [Lat.]
