known also as Mauzinho Quevedo de Castello Branco. A Portuguese poet, born at Setubal in the latter part of the 16th century; died some time after 1627. He was educated at the University of Coimbra. He wrote a history of Santa Isabel, Queen of Portugal; also "Affonso Africano" (1611), a brilliant piece of work.
