A fold of dura which separates the cerebrum and cerebellum supporting the occipital lobes. It is attached peripherally to the margins of the grooves for the lateral sinuses and to the superior posterior bodies of the petrous portions of the temporal bones, anteriorly to the anterior and posterior clinoid processes.
