The popular name of Icica Tacamahaca, a tree of South America; also of the form of Calophyllum Inophyllum occurring in Madagascar and the Isle of Bourbon, and of Populus balsamifera, a tree of North America: a resin, the produce of Calophyllum Inophyllum, and of Elaphrium tomentosum, a tree of Mexico and the West Indies. It occurs in yellowish pieces, of a strong smell, and a bitterish aromatic taste.
