A Latin chronicler, grammarian, and critic, who flourished in the early part of the second century of our era. He is celebrated for his "Lives of the Caesars". His other works include: "Illustrious Grammarians"; "Distinguished Orators"; and "Lives", only partly preserved, of Terence, Horace, Lucan, Juvenal, and Pliny.
