Is furnished by the facial, near the base of the jaw. It passes forwards along the attachment of the mylo-hyoideus, to which it furnishes branches that cross it to anastomose with those of the sublingual. Near the median line it bifurcates, to be distributed to the chin and muscles of the infra-hyoid region.
