A muscle situate at the anterior part of the neck; inserted, above, at the inferior edge of the body of the hyoid bone; below, into the upper part of the posterior surface of the sternum ;-at the posterior part of the sterno-clavicular articulation, and sometimes into the cartilage of the first rib.
