A Polish poet and prose-writer, who flourished in the sixteenth century, and was, it would seem, a laureate and epigrammatist at court, distinguishing himself by his wit and eloquence. "Presents for Saxon Ladies", a biting and dainty satire, directed against the corruption of the times; "The Courtesans", a volume of epigrams; and "The Escape of Rugiera", a drama, show him at his best.
