The followers of Joanna Southcott, born at Gittisham, Devon, 1750. Having for years claimed for herself a divine mission, she at last, in 1814, announced herself as about to become the mother of the approaching Shiloh. She died in the same year ; but her disciples for the most part were not undeceived.
