[L.] (Myth.) An ancient Roman or Sabine god. The two names seem to have belonged originally to two distinct gods, Semo being the guardian of sown crops (Saturn), and Sancus, presiding over oaths and covenants, and answering to the Zeus Horkios and Pistios of the Greeks.
