Two cords, which arise from the lateral and superior parts of the uterus, whence they proceed towards the abdominal rings, which they pass through, and terminate by vanishing in the areolar tissue of the groins, mons veneris, and labia majora. These cords are whitish, flattened, and narrower in the middle than at the extremities. According to Mr. Rainey, they are composed chiefly of the striped muscular fibre.
