A Scotch poet; born at Moorhouse in Renfrewshire, Oct. 19, 1798; died at Shirley-Commor, near Southampton, Sept. 18, 1827. His poem "The Course of Time" (1827) is noted. He wrote also "Tales of the Covenanters" (1833).
