An American antiquarian writer, and secretary of the Wisconsin State Historical Society. He was born in Boston, May 15, 1853. His books comprise: "Historic Waterways"; "The Story of Wisconsin"; "Our Cycling Tour in England"; "The Colonies, 1492-1750"; "Stories of the Badger State" (1900); "Father Marquette" (1902); "Daniel Boone" (1903); "Brief History of Rocky Mountain Exploration" (1904); "France in America" (1905). Editor of "Lahontan's New Voyages to North America", (1907). He is also editor of "The Jesuit Relations, and Allied Documents".
