-
A sound resembling at times the snoring-( F.) Ronflement-of a person asleep; at others the sound of the bass string of an instrument when rubbed with the finger, and not unfrequently the cooing- (F.) Roucoulement-of a dove. It seems to be caused by a contraction of the bronchial tubes, and is characteristic of chronic catarrh.
