A conical fossa, the base of which corresponds with the skin; is formed anteriorly by the transversus perinaei muscle; behind, by the inferior border of the glutaeus maximus; internally, by the levator ani; and externally, by the tuber ischii. It is filled up with fat and fibrous striae.
