A tribe of Dakota Indians, lived on the Quicoure at the beginning of the century. Treaties in 1815 and 1820 ceded lands at Council Bluffs, and other treaties of a similar nature were made in 1825 and 1830. In 1854 they gave up more of their lands. Their reservation lies in the northeastern part of Nebraska. They have suffered much from the hostility of the Sioux.
