A name given to fixed oils holding in solution the mucilaginous and gelatinous principles of certain animals, as the Oil of frogs, Oil of scorpions, Oil of spiders, &c. Sometimes, also, the term animal oils is given to empyreumatic oils, produced during the decomposition of animal substances by heat.
