Myrtaceous \Myr*ta"ceous\, a. [L. myrtaceus.]
(Bot.)
Of, pertaining to, or resembling, a large and important
natural order of trees and shrubs (Myrtace[ae]), of which
the myrtle is the type. It includes the genera Eucalyptus,
Pimenta, Lechythis, and about seventy more.
