1. Inclosed, or nearly inclosed, with land; as, the Mediterranean Sea, between Europe and Africa.

2. Inland; remote from the ocean. [Obs.]

3. Of or pertaining to the Mediterranean Sea; as, Mediterranean trade; a Mediterranean voyage.
