An American author and journalist; born in Augusta, Ga., April 3, 1858. He studied law and was admitted to the New York bar; took up editorial work and was on the staff of the Philadelphia Press, New Englander and Yale Review. Besides his regular contributions to magazines and periodicals, his works include: "Real People" (1886); "Scenes in General Dayton's Garden" (1889); "A Short History of the War with Spain" (1898); "Harper's History of the War in the Philippines" (1900).
