A form of convulsion, which has appeared, at various times, epidemically under the form of St. Vitus's dance, St. John's dance, Tarantism, Hysteria, Tigretier (in Abyssinia), and diseased sympathy; and which has been fully described by Hecker in his 'Epidemics of the Middle Ages.'
