The main structural component of the LIVER. They are specialized EPITHELIAL CELLS that are organized into interconnected plates called lobules.
Syn.: hepatic cell. One of the spheroidal or polyhedral cells, which form the proper glandular substance of the liver and constitute the lobules of the latter.
