A distinguished Spanish poet and dramatist; born at Valladolid, Nov. 13, 1844. He graduated from the Spanish Military Academy at Madrid (1865), and was appointed professor of analytical and descriptive geometry there in 1867, retiring in 1885. His first comedy was "Laurels of a Poet" (1852). His many other plays include: "The Code of Honor"; "Modern Idolatry"; and "The Death of Lucretia". He is the author of a volume of poems, "Arrows".
