An English art critic and miscellaneous writer; wife of Sir Charles W. She was for many years a writer for the Saturday and Westminster Reviews, and at one time art critic of the Academy. Her chief work is "The Renaissance in France", illustrated by herself. Her other publications include: "The Shrine of Death" (1886); "Art in the Modern State" (1888); "The Shrine of Love".
