A Polish poet, historian, and publicist; born in Lithuania, 1758; died at Paris, 1841. His public career was quite distinguished; and he accompanied Kosciuszko to this country. He married Mrs. Livingston Kean of New York. His principal works are: "Historical Songs of Poland"; "History of the Reign of Sigismund III".; "Contributions to the Ancient History of Poland"; and a romance called "John of Tenczyn".
