The systematic name of the Horse's Tail, Mare's Tail, Equitetum minus, Equisetum, (F.) Prele, Presle, Asprele, Queue de cheval. It is an astringent, and frequently used, as tea, by the vulgar, in diarrhoea and hemorrhage. The same virtues are attributed to the Equisetum arvense, fluviatile, limosum, &c.
