Half-Cast, see Caste. A term applied, in India, to the offspring of a Hindoo and a European. Since, extended to the offspring of mixed races. The subjoined list from Tschudi's Travels in Peru, 1838-1842, shows the parentage of the different varieties of half-casts, and also the proper designations of the latter, as observed in South America.
