GRAAFIAN VESICLES, in anat. numerous small globular transparent follicles found in the ovaries of mammals. They are developed for the special purpose of expelling the ovum. Small at first and deeply bedded in the ovary, they gradually approach the surface, and finally burst and discharge the ovum.
