An English historian and theological writer, brother of John Henry; born in London, June 27, 1805; died at Weston-Super Mare, Oct. 4, 1897. He wrote many important works, including: "History of the Hebrew Monarchy" (1847); "The Soul: Its Sorrows and Aspirations" (1849); "Phases of Faith" (1850); "Lectures on Ancient and Modern History" (1851); "Crimes of the House of Hapsburg" (1853); etc.
