An Austrian journalist; born in Vienna, April 8, 1849. He wrote while still a boy; but his first success was "Literary Music of the Future" (1877). Since then he has traveled extensively and written for the best papers. "In Passing", "Unbound" "Passion-Play Letters", "Leaves in the Wind", and other collections, have been very popular. His poems. notably "Songs from the Mountain Tops", and his plays, "The First Letter" and "At Three o'Clock", are of special merit.
