An Italian poet; born in Milan, Jan. 30, 1850. He made his mark early in journalism, and wrote some good librettos-e. g., "Colomba" (1887); but his is essentially a poet's fame,-"The Song of Hate", "Socialism", and "The Meeting" being effective and beautiful compositions.
